
What is Title I?
Title I is part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act which provides federal financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at risk students. The goal of Title I is to provide extra instructional services and activities which supports identified struggling students in the areas of math, reading and writing.
What do Title I programs offer?
The program allows schools to assess student skills and abilities, set goals for improvement, provide a variety of materials and supplemental instruction to meet student needs, and measure and monitor student progress regularly.
